Growing up, my incredible parents ran their own business, teaching the principles and practices of Regenerative Agriculture. I have no doubt this way of thinking led me down the path of Naturopathy, as the principles of Natural medicine mirror many of those which underpin Regenerative Ag.

After school, I kept my inner gypsy very happy by travelling around and exploring the world before settling in Melbourne to study. After graduating in 2011, my husband and I moved back to sunny Queensland where I owned and operated a successful multi-modality wellness clinic, Gladstone Holistic Health; and in late 2015, I became a Mum (my proudest achievement yet!) and started a new business, Cultivating Wellness.

My husband and I now have two beautiful children and a small hobby farm which allows us to play around with growing our own nutrient-dense, chemical-free food. It’s a work in progress, but our goal is to bring fertility to what was a depleted and barren landscape and be well nourished along the way.

As a practicing Naturopath, Nutritionist and Herbalist; I consult online and take clients Australia wide. In fact, most of my clients live in isolated regions of this beautiful country. I don’t specialise in a specific area, and am perhaps what you’d call a ‘generalist’ practitioner, however areas I refer to specialist practitioners for are: complex infertility, infant allergies, integrative oncology and sports nutrition/ naturopathy.

I’m also the nutrition consultant (aka the foodie chick!) for Off the Track Training, a virtual Hub focused on fitness, food and motivation designed to ensure long term sustainable health and well-being for people in isolation (or anywhere for that matter). Joy (the legend behind OTTT) and I, both believe that your postcode shouldn’t determine your health outcomes, and that in this day and age we can do better.

I’m endlessly blown away by the intelligence of nature and human physiology, and is fascinated with nutrition all the way from the soil up! I have a keen interest in the linking human health to soil health, regenerative practices and systems thinking.

My passion is to make complex science and information, easy to implement and actionable.

Thanks for checking out what gives me joy, hopefully it’s contagious…

I am strongly guided by a set of principles as a holistic practitioner. Below are a set of human health principles that I believe to be true. These principles are derived from the laws of nature, soil and ecosystem health, Naturopathic principles and systems thinking.

First do no harm: To me, this principle is about doing a risk v benefit analysis on any decisions related to your health. It’s about thinking critically about information and advice, and pausing before making big decisions.

Identify and treat causes: Find health professionals who will be thorough and ask you lots of questions. Symptom support and treatment is fine, as long as the “why” is being considered.

Be synchronous with Nature: As Gabor Mate says, “A culture where nature has become the exception is a culture in trouble”.

Optimise biology to optimise chemistry: Remember, we are what we absorb! Thriving microbes will do wonders for our internal chemistry.

Diversity, diversity, diversity: One of the hallmarks of a resilient system is diversity. Keep asking yourself, how are you designing for diversity within your diet and the way you move to keep your cells and microbes thriving?

Manage for what you do want, not what you don’t: stay proactive and continue to consider what areas of your life and health may not be fully realised or lived out just yet.

We are greater than the sum of our parts: We are complex systems, embedded within larger complex systems, and with multiple smaller systems nested within. It’s the relationships and interactions between these systems that matters most.

No two alike: there is no other person ON THE PLANET who is just like you. Embrace your uniqueness and all that comes with that from a physical, microbial, spiritual and emotional perspective.

A little disclaimer: These principles will not resonate with everyone, and they’re of course somewhat in contrast to the conventional approach. They’re simply what I’ve observed to be true and helpful for myself both personally and also professionally.

I hope they’re helpful for you too.
